Event Policies, Procedures, & Guidelines

There are many policies, guidelines, and procedures that can impact student club and organization events and activities. Below are common policies, guidelines, and procedures. If you have any questions about your event or activity and would like to discuss it, please contact the Center for Campus Life at studentevents@rit.edu.

Copyright Guidelines

These guidelines are for the screening or viewing of movies, television, streaming services, and broadcast entertainment.  All screenings must be approved by the Center for Campus Life.

Raffle Rules & Approval

Raffles are games of chance in which people purchase consecutively numbered tickets for the chance to win a prize.  All raffles must be reviewed and approved by RIT.

BINGO Rules & Approval

BINGO games, including free games, must be reviewed and approved by RIT.

Student Organizations & Political Activities

These guidelines are in regards to any political activities or participation in student organization events by elected or government officials.

Fundraising, Sponsorship, & Event Support Guidelines

These guidelines pertain to seeking financial support either from RIT departments or fundraising from external organizations.

Campus Life Finance Manual

These guidelines include all aspects of student organization purchasing, budgeting, and cash handling.

Public Safety

Public Safety does their best to support and keep our students safe and will often review events that they should be aware of. They may reach out to you in regard to your event should they have questions or need clarification.
