How do I register?

  • Registration opens Feb 16th and closes March 8th . Signup HERE!

What if I register but then have a change of plans?

  • Please notify RIT SWE so we can accept other participants from the waitlist.

How often is this event held?

  • The What is Engineering? (formerly SWE Overnight) program is offered annually, for high school juniors (11th grade), regardless of gender. The RIT Society of Women Engineers Section works to create an environment of inclusion for a diverse group of members.

Do I need to attend all five Zoom sessions?

  • No. You can attend whichever sessions you want to, however attending all five will give a fuller experience.

Can parents attend?

  • Parents, family members, and guardians are invited to join us on Friday, March 22nd, 2023 from 6:00PM to around 6:30PM for a welcome session. Parents are then excused, while participants continue with the "What is Engineering?" (formerly SWE Overnight) program. We ask that the rest of the Zoom sessions remain just the students so that they can receive the most personal experience possible.

Are there access services available?

  • Sign language interpreting or real-time captioning is available upon request.​ Please reach out to ritsweoutreach@rit.edu.
