  • Who can enroll in an ASC Success Course?

    Applied Study Strategies and Essential Study Techniques are open to all current RIT undergraduate or graduate students. Prerequisites apply to students wishing to enroll in Study Strategies Lab. Students in UTID AOS programs need to pass UWRT-100 with a grade of C or better in order to enroll.

  • How can I enroll in an ASC Success Course?

    Students may enroll in courses through SIS or with the assistance of their Academic Advisor. Prerequisites apply to Study Strategies Lab. Essential Study Techniques (ACSC 64) section 8 has department consent to add prior to the beginning of the course.

  • Are these courses credit-bearing?

    All ASC courses are zero-credit.

  • What is the cost of an ASC Success Course?

    All ASC courses are free of charge for current RIT students.

  • Which ASC Success Course is best for me?

    Applied Study Strategies is best for students whose primary need is study skills, time management and academic organization, who would benefit from applying strategies to their credit courses, and who would benefit from a  whole semester of study skills and strategies. This course is not designed for students whose academic struggles are caused by attendance or participation challenges, executive function needs, or extensive procrastination.

    Essential Study Techniques is best for students who seek/need foundational skills for studying and time management, or those who find they need to gain strategies to improve grades within the semester, This course is not designed for students whose academic struggles are caused by attendance or participation challenges, executive function needs, or extensive procrastination.

    Study Strategies Lab is best for students who would like a structured time each week to work on study  strategies, time management and academic organization. Students may enroll in more than one section within a semester for additional structured time on their schedule. Prerequisites apply.
