Voter Advocacy Network

Are you ready to make a difference at RIT? Join the Voter Advocacy Network to inform, support, and empower your peers each election cycle and beyond. Through this program, you will learn valuable skills in leadership, advocacy, and civic engagement.

The Voter Advocacy Network is a nonpartisan student-led volunteer initiative through ROAR the Vote.

What to Expect:

Volunteers with the Voter Advocacy Network work alongside one another to act as critical voting resources for their peers at RIT. You can expect to volunteer 5 hours each semester through voter registration tabling, programming assistance, and strategy development. As a student-led and student-run program, volunteers are encouraged to bring their creativity and enthusiasm to the team!

Testimonial

“Student leadership is a very important aspect in the Voter Advocacy Network. The student leaders are part of different events, they shape strategies and mobilize peers for voter registration and engagement. They undergo training to develop skills in communication, event planning and leadership. Leveraging their peer networks, they facilitate conversations and encourage participation. Empowered with ownership over initiatives, the student leaders drive VAN's success through voter advocacy and engagement within the student community.”

Future Training Opportunities

You can expect the next training opportunity to take place in early Fall 2026.

Opportunities for VANs are regularly posted on CampusGroups.

NOTE: Volunteer opportunities are only open to those trained as VANs.
