GOALS:

1. To provide a means for students to socialize and interact with others who have similar communication preferences. 

2. To make NTID students, faculty and staff aware of the presence and communication needs of students who prefer to use spoken English.

3. To develop students’ confidence in their ability to use spoken communication.

4. To make contact with entering NTID students who prefer to use spoken communication in order to reduce their anxiety and isolation.

5. To educate the RIT/NTID community regarding the use of spoken communication by deaf and hard of hearing students.

6. To become a source of information, and to provide mentoring for interested deaf and hard of hearing students in the Rochester Area.

7. Encourage and practice ASL, American Sign Language skills at the students’ own pace.
