The Wordsmiths is RIT’s creative writing club! We host writing workshops, trope talks, guest authors and speakers, and poetry open mics, as well as produce Wordsmiths zines throughout the semester to showcase RIT community art and writing. Readers, writers, poets, and all other enjoyers of literary craft are welcome to join us to learn about, share, or just enjoy a welcoming space to do some writing!
We also host a performance/workshop event each year with professionals in various fields. Past examples include Kim Miller (poetry), James Arthur (poetry), Neil Grayson (fiction), Brian Wood (short stories), and most recently Kristina Ten (short stories).
If you would like to join the Wordsmiths, please come to our general meetings Thursday nights, from 8 - 9:45 PM in WAL-3520. And be on the lookout for posters across campus advertising zine submission periods and specific workshop topics!
