As RIT’s first Irish Step Dance club, our dancers will strive to spread Irish culture and cheer around RIT’s campus by showcasing Ireland’s traditional form of dance. Irish dancing is a very social, lively and engaging activity. This club will bring together experienced dancers who wish to continue their passion of Irish step with those who have never danced before. Our weekly meeting will foster a laid back environment where we will focus on the basic technical form of Irish dance, choreograph performance numbers in our “ghillies” and “heavy shoes” and learn ceili dances that have been passed down through Irish culture for generations! Eventually, as a club, we hope to share our love of Irish dance with RIT’s campus community through performances and events.
