momentum is a portfolio of leadership development programs designed to introduce students to and cultivate the core competencies needed to step into key leadership roles on campus and in the Rochester community.

momentum I

momentum I is RIT's centralized leadership launchpad to introduce students to meaningful competency development and to increase their sense of belonging through connections to key leadership opportunities, including Resident Advisors, Orientation Leaders, Disability Leadership Scholars, and more.

Students are encouraged to select a track that works best with their schedule and take their first step into leadership.

momentum II

momentum II empowers students by developing their unique leadership strengths and connecting them with local change makers who share how they leverage their skills to advance their fields. Through collaborative modeling and capacity building, students explore best practices and engage with knowledge communities across disciplines.

Students will emerge equipped with the skills, knowledge, and connections to become a leader and change maker.

momentum III

momentum III participants will develop key competencies, including project management, leadership, and strategic thinking. They'll learn to articulate how their individual strengths contribute to effective solutions and apply these skills in future endeavors.

By working in interdisciplinary teams with community organizations to solve real-world challenges within a 48-hour timeframe, they will gain hands-on experience and build valuable leader-to-leader connections.
