Black Lives Matter Fundraiser

We hosted a fundraiser virtually through bingo boards on Instagram to support the organizations that are doing the work to help those who are directly impacted by the racial injustices in this country. We were able to raise $3,428.40 and donated these funds to the NAACP Legal and Educational Fund, The Bail Project, and the United Negro College Fund.

Breast Cancer Awareness/ Mask Our Heros Fundraiser

We held a BCA event where we brought in the Outreach Director from a local Rochester organization, Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester. In preparation of this event, we held a virtual fundraiser where we raised $1057.85 which we divided evenly amongst the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester & Mask our Heros.

Special Olympics

Our girls volunteered at Special Olympics New York state games held in Rochester, NY this past February. As cheerleaders, we decorated signs to hold up as the athletes and their coaches entered during the opening ceremonies, and we cheered them on.

Girl's Day/ Hishi Mochi Fundraiser

Girl's Day (Hinamatsuri) is a holiday that celebrates the health and happiness of young girls in Japan. To celebrate, we hosted a fundraiser selling Hishi mochi, a type of coconut flavored mochi typically eaten on Girl's Day. One of our members of Japanese descent had planned a fun interactive event on how to fold paper dolls, which act as good luck charms for those celebrating the holiday.

Girls in STEM Fair

We participated a STEM fair catered to young girls to encourage women representation in the STEM fields. We hosted a "Major Matching" Activity as well as our "Science behind Slime" tables.

Relationship Woes vs. Relationship Goals

For violence awareness, we hosted an educational workshop on domestic violence awareness, where we invited a speaker from the Center of Women and Gender at RIT to talk to us about important aspects of relationships for young adults

Pride Month IG Event

For Pride Month, we decided to highlight 3 prominent female LBTQ activist and their contributions to the gay community on our Instagram story. We initially chose asian female activists to spread Asian-Awareness, but we also decided to highlight the activist, Marsha P. Johnson to additionally shed light on the Black Lives Matter Movement as well.
