Hello Tigers!

We will be having a craft sale this Wednesday, March 8th in the SAU from 9 to 5! We will be selling crafts like earrings and soap. There will likely not be honey due to low supply; the rest of our honey will be sold at a sale in April!

This past Saturday, club members met to learn about how to start out as beginning beekeepers. Club president Ellie gave an insightful presentation and shared her own experience. Read more below!

Starting Out as a New Beekeeper!

This past Saturday, Ellie gave a talk on how to start out as a brand-new beekeeper. We discussed everything from purchasing equipment to learning the ropes.

If you want to see the slides, you can find them on our website! The slides include information about purchasing equipment, setting up hives, catching swarms, and indentifying diseases. There is also information about scholarships that help beginning beekeepers buy their first equipment and receive mentorship.

The slides also include information on beekeeping clubs local to Rochester and New York. Beekeeping clubs are amazing resources for beekeepers, providing education, equipment, and training! If you don't live in New York, you can probably find a club local to you on Google.

Get Connected!

We have a Discord where we frequently send out reminders about meetings, hive inspections, and honey extractions. Make sure to join here to have access to this information!
