Hello Tigers!

Our next club meeting will be this Saturday, 10/3 in the SAU Alumni Room. Stop by to hear Cornell master beekeeper Kira Avery talk about her experience beekeeping and how she prepares her bees for the winter! Interpreters have been requested.

Most Recent Hive Updates

Hive A:
- top super had 3 solid, 1 partial, and 6 undrawn frames (left on since there weren’t any good frames to replace with in the boxes below)
- decent queen pattern, fitting for this time of year
- no eggs or queen spotted

Hive D:
- larvae and brood seen
- some capped honey in the top box, mostly nectar
- powdered sugar roll revealed no discernible mites
- no eggs spotted

Several members of the Beekeeping Club gathered around a hive, preparing to inspect it.

Hive Inspections

Make sure to fill out our hive inspection waiver before signing up to join us at a hive inspection! Some times have already been uploaded (weather permitting), and you can see all of the hive inspections on our sign up sheet here.
Anyone can join an inspection regardless of experience! Make sure to wear shoes with socks that completely cover your ankles and let the Bee Board member leading the hive inspection know if you have any known allergies to bee stings.

Get Connected!

We have a Discord where we frequently send out reminders about meetings, hive inspections, and honey extractions. Make sure to join here to have access to this information!
