Checking out the "No-Mow Zones"

This past Saturday, our VP Geoff led club members on a walk down to some of the no-mow zones RIT has set up in the hopes of finding some native pollinator-friendly plants!

The unfortunate conclusion was that while no-mow zones have helped native plants survive better than the areas that are mowed, there is still very few native plants beyond some grasses. On the bright side, we saw plenty of birds.

Hopefully RIT will work on getting more native wildflowers and flowering plants soon!
