PCC News for Tuesday, November 18th:

~*~* Sorry, no pictures this week! Strange little tech issues. *~*~

Christ be celebrated, Christ be adored! This week we'll remember with gratitude and faith that we're not in charge.

As we wind down some of the rushing momentum that got us here, it's time to let ourselves be held. This week is Reign of Christ Sunday for many Protestant churches, let's see where Christ's leadership can teach us exactly where we need to be.

Almost there, scholars. We're blessed by the work you're doing! One step at a time.

Tonight: Student-led Resistance Bible Study

Skalny Room (Downstairs, just below the Chapels)
5:00 - 6:30ish

Wanna try a meditative way to read Scripture? Want to see how prophetic wisdom can transcend generations and warm our souls? How can the work of faith be made clear in chaotic seasons?! Let's find out.

RBS is PCC's way to address the challenges of ethical Christian practice with love and patience. How we build practices that can grow and sustain the church yet to come. Join our PCC co-presidents Atticus and Elly to rest in some prophetic wisdom -- one of our faves, Habakkuk.

Bring an open mind, your big questions, and join some new friends in good faith.

~*~* Christianity is Magic*~*~

Last Sunday we talked about how Rebecca Sugar's song Sweet Time might be a way to understand kairos timing: God's timing that has nothing to do with the ticking of the clock. I've had this song on my heart for weeks now, hope it refills your well:

Everybody's headed somewhere
And they want to get there faster
But, I'm taking my
I'm taking my sweet time

I used to be in such a hurry
So much, so quick, so sick with worry
Now, I'm taking my
I'm taking my sweet time

I don't need to solve the maze
I'll stretch like a shadow and fade like the haze
Work all day but I won't deliver
I'll grow like a tree in the LA river

Everybody's selling something
Looking for the highest bidder
But, I'm taking my
I'm taking my sweet time

I don't need to solve the maze
I'll stretch like a shadow and fade like the haze
I'll work all day but I won't deliver
I'll grow like a tree in the Genesee river

Everybody's selling something
Looking for the highest bidder
But, I'm taking my
I'm taking my sweet time

'Cause everything is chutes and ladders
And someone else telling me what matters so
I'm taking my, I'm taking my sweet time

I'm taking my, I'm taking my sweet time
