Image Description: An abstract spread of colors: oranges, blues and greens. As you look closer you can see human shapes and a bright red figure riding on the back of a donkey. It's Jesus! The other figures gather around Christ extending their energy towards him in supplication, perhaps admiration.
I cannot wait to hear about Spring Break, folks. I had the loveliest week in NYC catch up with friends and family after almost two years away. The city welcomed me home. I'm hoping you had a chance to feel at home and reflective whether you were traveling or hibernating.
Now, here we are! Time for friends, family, and faith to help us thaw. (in the snow, ha.) Welcome back, PCC. Let's get to it.

Tonight! Music and Meaning
As always we'll be upstairs in the sun room listening to music, singing a bit, perhaps signing a song or two. M&M is our chillest program in the PCC Grab Bag, each month is a new chance to discover something new about your fellow PCCer. It's always more than just listening, we end up feeling music together in the coolest way. Try it out!
This week's theme: "Heat it up!" Since it's all snowy-like out there we'll bring songs that bring heat. Warmth, energy, tempo, interpret however you wish.
Bonus playlist from last month's Music and Meaning, theme "Who are you?"
Breezin' by George Benson
Genesis by Grimes
Daytona Sand by Orville Peck
Keep Yourself Alive by Queen
Late Bloomer by Semler
Wayfaring Stranger by Pete Seeger

Christianity is Weird:
After some weeks of messy messes we're leaning into good-weird! McGee and Me was part of this early 90s rush of kids Christian family friendly media during the VHS boom. This was wild, folks. Long before, Lizzy McGuire we had never seen real life humans hang out with animated characters. It was so novel, well acted and well produced. I argue you would not have VeggieTales without this one.
I distinctly remember watching this episode during youth group pizza nights. It was the first time I, a Californian, had heard about tornados and I was 100% terrified one might hit Southern California. There's lots of early 90s nostalgia to discover, if that's your thing.
"But Sam, you liked this show as a kid. It's about Christian values. What's weird about it?"
the hair, for one.
We need your help:
HERE WE ARE, FOLKS! We're super far away from our fundraising goal and we still have time. Ready to be an ambassador, PCC?
Sign up to be an ambassador here and share the word via socials, however you want. Write a song, draw some fanart, do your duet with John Daker and go viral. (That one'll really work imho) We created and codifyed PCC @ RIT so quickly this year, now with some word of mouth and hard work in March we can solidify the future of queer faith for years to come.
I've asked a number of RIT employee colleagues to help out, please let me know if you know any other staff or faculty folks who might be interested in helping us grow.
Let's do this! |
