Greetings RIT 365 Facilitators,

It’s Week 10 and we are officially 2⁄3 of the way finished with the semester!

In this issue:
ÔùÅ Early Alert Academic Progress Survey #2
ÔùÅ Faculty Interviews FAQs
ÔùÅ Bi-Weekly Meetings
ÔùÅ What’s Happening in Wellness

EARLY ALERT SURVEY #2
The 2nd Academic Progress Report is now open and will close on 11/5 at 11:00pm.
ANY STUDENT WHO RECEIVES A FAILING GRADE IN THIS COURSE SHOULD
HAVE RECEIVED A MINIMUM OF ONE EARLY ALERT FROM THEIR
FACILITATORS
. Refer to the Step-by-Step guide available on the Facilitator Resources website to complete the survey.

I don’t have any students of concern. Do I need to still submit the Progress Report?
Yes! Action is still required even if you don’t have any “flags” to raise. Simply open your
Progress Report Survey and click “submit”. This acknowledges that you reviewed your students’ progress and lets advisors know that there are no issues for their advisees in this particular course. You can also submit a “Kudos” to thank students for their contributions in class and/or for their insightful Portfolio submissions!

FACULTY INTERVIEWS FAQs
All class sections will soon be or are already engaging in the Faculty Interview PDR Cycle. This is one of our favorite experiences for students. Please reiterate that students should be choosing one of their current professors. This is to normalize the value of these types of connections, to help establish stronger relationships between professors and their students, and to support overall student success. Interviewing a TA, GA, Coach, or Advisor does not meet this objective.

Can students interview RIT 365 Facilitators?
No. The purpose of this assignment is to encourage academic connections and build
relationships with teaching faculty.

Can students interview coaches, advisors, or ROTC officers?
No. Students should be interviewing a faculty member.

What about TA’s?
It depends. Students can interview their TA if that person is a graduate student or adjunct, but not if they are an upper class, undergraduate student.

If students have the same professor, can they conduct interviews in small groups?
Yes! We’ve often had students interview faculty in groups. However, we want to be sure each student has the opportunity to ask questions and interact, so groups should be limited to 4 students or less. This may also be a great opportunity for students who feel really challenged (or anxious) by this assignment to get some support through a peer and also helps to use faculty time efficiently.

REMINDER: There is a specific PDR Guide for this experience, and there is a specific Portfolio prompt for this assignment. Reference the “content” section of your myCourses class section to view this.

BI-WEEKLY TEAM MEETINGS
Our Bi-Weekly meetings are essential for the development of our Facilitator community. We’re thankful for everyone who shows vulnerability and courage in these meetings as well as those who step in to share what’s working well.  And we need every voice to be part of this community.

Please be sure to make up any missed meetings by participating in a different scheduled meeting time on our schedule. All are welcome at each meeting. Simply let the facilitator know you're there as a make up. Please remember you must make up missed meetings as you are being compensated for this time and it is a requirement of this position.

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN WELLNESS?
This past week has undoubtedly been a challenging time for our RIT community. Over the past week, various resources have been shared with you offering opportunities for connection and support. Here is  a Wellness Events Calendar that compiles all the RIT Wellness events and programs in one easy place to find moving forward. This includes CaPS workshops and groups, Mental Health First Aid training opportunities, Bow Wow Wellness, and more.

Be sure to save this page, as we’re always adding new events and programs throughout the semester.
