PCC News for Tuesday, August 26th:

Image Description: A line of green trees is reflected over a glassy-still pond. The puffy clouds float in a blue sky, reflected perfectly in the pond's water. In the front of the frame we see reeds and plants, likely hiding a few snakes. Just out of the frame, to the left, we feel the presence of a small overturned canoe. This pond is for relaxation only.

Happy first week back, folks. We'll hold on to summer this week as the air cools a bit. May you feel focused and interwoven into both the calendar density (why is EVERYTHING happening this week?!) and the joy of just showing up.

This year, you will bless folks around you by just being yourself. Show up with as much energy and goodwill as you've got available, we'll stumble along until we've got it all figured out. Can't wait to catch up.

We'll start official programming next week! Tonight, we Club. Errr, we Fair. Wait.

Tonight, we Club Fair.

Stop by PCC's table and catch up! I'll be wearing a rainbow stole; our steering committee will help meet old friends and new. Let's see who needs to meet us.

THIS QUEEN!

As I was spending a ton of time with Scripture this summer, I fell in love with the stories of the Prophet Elijah. He was a fallible mentor, he learned more about social justice through community faith work, and God let him take a chariot to heaven instead of dying. (Can you imagine?)

Check out this passage for some reflection around ethical leadership and God's providence; can't wait to see what you scholars make of these Hebrew Bible stories during our study time this year.

Coming Up:
  • Join our lovely TABLE Community on Sunday nights for worship and dinner! Been collaborating a lot with Pastor Craig over the years, he's an amazing guy. If you're curious about details, PCC co-president Atticus can help.
  • PCC Discord's here! Can't wait to grow our community into digital spaces. Come join the FUN.
  • Drop-in Counseling is happening today! See you 2:30 - 4:00 at my office just off of Fireside Lounge. Put your name on the dry erase board and knock if you want to wait in line, can't wait to catch up.
