Hello Tigers!

We are excited to announce we will be having a sale, next Wednesday, March 8th, from 9:00am to 4:30pm in the SAU! We will be selling honey from our hives and crafts we've made. There will also be honey samples to taste.

Our next meeting will be a discussion on how to get started as a beekeeper, led by our president Ellie! It will be at 3:00pm on Saturday, March 4th in Gosnell 3365.

This past week saw two fun events: a screening of the Bee Movie and a meeting to build new hive boxes! Read more below.

Wax Wraps and the Bee Movie

On Thursday, the Beekeeping Club hosted crafts and a screening of the Bee Movie in collaboration with CAB!

Members and non-members alike came to make beeswax wraps (a sustainable alternative to plastic wrap!), bracelets, and jars of honey. They also got to have some really tasty treats.

After, we screened the Bee Movie, followed by a short presentation from Ellie on how much the movie got wrong. (Hint: a lot)

Thank you to CAB for helping out in planning such a fun event!

Several members of the Beekeeping Club gathered around a hive, preparing to inspect it.

Building New Hives!

On Saturday, club members met in the Booth Wood Workshop to work on constructing new frames and hive boxes. These frames and boxes will help the club grow the number of hives we take care of.

Stay tuned for future meetings involving the boxes!

Thank you to our faculty sponsor Joe Allgeier for helping out :)

Get Connected!

We have a Discord where we frequently send out reminders about meetings, hive inspections, and honey extractions. Make sure to join here to have access to this information!
