Image ID: The viewer looks up to see a wooden porch above one's head. A large LED star shines. A small red bird sits on its left face facing the dark night. A teeny little beak looks as if it could peep at any time.
Hey little winter birds! Roads have been zany, it's a snowy world out there. I did a wedding on campus on Saturday, it was gorgeous to see the snow pouring down from inside Jones Chapel.
This week PCC launches a discord server for digital fellowship. This week we honor trans- and non-binary lives as we remember Sam N who deserved more time. Some of us are headed to North Carolina, all of us are going to work hard to keep things moving. What a blessing it is to be in community, beloved church.

We're going to get a bit silly with it, y'all. Our theme this week is Big Drama.
I want highs and lows. I want tears and laughter. Gimme the full circus. Bring the most dramatic, absurd, colorful and wackadoo songs you've got. Since life is inherently unfocused and strange these days, we might as well lean in and name it.

This one's going to be about our community, if you'll forgive some sentimental reflection.
We had a PCC Bible Study last week. That was a huge deal!
From across various perspectives and traditions we studied Scripture and sat in the warmth of the text. We brought our scar tissue and created a structure that worked for the group, it was also replicable / teachable in case PCC ever grows.
I watched folks tap into the energy of the Bible story with their full selves. It was energizing and hopeful in a time of great need, the way Bible study needs to be.
The book doesn't solve any of our problems, but it does teach us to get through moments of crisis and suffering. I saw that last week, let's find more of that.
Coming Up:
- PCC Discord's here! Can't wait to grow our community into digital spaces. Let's spend a week or two puttering around getting to know it and each other.
- Games Can Help has been rescheduled for Friday, March 28th! Want to join the leadership team? Tons to do as we plan together on discord.
- Drop-in Counseling is happening today 2:30 - 4:30. If you wanna get in queue, knock so we know you're there and throw your name on the dry erase board.
- I'm taking ASL this semester, it's so fulfilling. Want to help practice and build some community? Let me know.
