Hello Tigers!

This week the RIT Beekeeping Club made soap! Thank you to everyone who came and thank you to those who made soap to sell later.

Our next club meeting will be October 1st in the 1829 Room (SAU 1510). Come listen to Master Beekeeper Kira Avery discuss her experience beekeeping!

Soapmaking!

This past Saturday, members came to the 1829 Room in the SAU for soapmaking!

Soaps were made using the honey we collected, along with beeswax, glycerin, and oils and extracts. All soaps were packaged with paper and twine.

Members were able to take their soap home, but many helped make soaps that will be sold alongside our honey jars during Brick City Weekend!

Several members of the Beekeeping Club gathered around a hive, preparing to inspect it.

Hive Inspections

Make sure to fill out our hive inspection waiver before signing up to join us at a hive inspection! Some times have already been uploaded (weather permitting), and you can see all of the hive inspections on our sign up sheet here.
Anyone can join an inspection regardless of experience! Make sure to wear shoes with socks that completely cover your ankles and let the Bee Board member leading the hive inspection know if you have any known allergies to bee stings.

Get Connected!

We have a discord where we frequently send out reminders about meetings, hive inspections, and honey extractions. Make sure to join here to have access to this information!
