Image Description: A cloudy sunset view outside Fiorella, an Italian Restaurant near Rochester's Public Market. Light and clouds interplay with the anticipation of pasta. (Good pasta.)
Just a bit left, folks. Spring Break's near. You've worked so hard to keep things in order to this point. You've been taking care of yourself and others. May this Spring Break be a chance to get back what you've poured out. Whether it's active or sleepy, it'll be right. You're almost there.

Tonight! Dinner Dialogue: Good Samaritans & Lectio Divina
We've got some real interesting faith stuff this week, folks. We'll do a bit of scripture study through this ancient method of Lectio Divina in which we "let the text work on us," inverting some of the paradigms of what it means to read the Bible. Then we'll get creative! It'll be a fun & light way to consider how we can better love our neighbors to help out with the world's big aches.

Christianity is Weird:
Want your Weird Christianity all classic-like? Look no further than the Infancy Gospel of Thomas.
Not only is this "heretical" text completely unrelated to the Gospel of Thomas, it has one of my favorite stories ever: When baby little Jesus brings clay birds to life. Yes, you heard me right. He was practicing his magic! It's so cool.
There's so much in this book and the apocrypha as a whole that can weird us out towards discovering the strange fringe-y parts of Christian history, check it out!
We need your help:
HERE WE ARE, FOLKS! We have about 30 days to raise some goood money for PCC and its future. Will you help? We are currently at 1%, bit by bit.
Sign up to be an ambassador here and share the word via socials, however you want. Write a song, draw some fanart, do your duet with John Daker and go viral. (That one'll really work imho) We created and codifyed PCC @ RIT so quickly this year, now with some word of mouth and hard work in March we can solidify the future of queer faith for years to come.
I've asked a number of RIT employee colleagues to help out, please let me know if you know any other staff or faculty folks who might be interested in being an ambassador.
Many hands, light work! Thanks PCC. Let's do this. |
