PCC News for Tuesday, November 7th:

Image Description: Four pumpkins sit precariously on a railing overlooking a beautiful lake. Trees line its eastern bank, clouds hang low over the surrounding mountains.
This week we've got things to do, people to see, checklists abound. What will it mean to show up as much as we're able? How can we pace ourselves so that our spirits find a way through as well as our bodies? Let's stay gentle and patient with the limits that reveal themselves these busy days. We're so glad you're here, folks.

Save the date! Chaplain Sam's Installation:
THIS Sunday, November 12th from 5:00 to 6:30ish at the U of R Interfaith Chapel. (Then a light reception.)
A pastoral installation is something like a Jr. Ordination. It's part worship, a way for us to feel churchy with interfaith neighbors and representatives from the UCC in our region. It's also a way to ritualize the rightness of... this. We spent a year interrogating whether the call was right and now we're saying it out loud.
And we can't do it without RIT's PCC-ers! Please show up in your cutest garb, bring a friend. We're gonna bring over as many of our PCC @ RIT folks as we can, let us know if you need a ride by Friday. We can't wait to see you there.
Tonight! Dinner Dialogue Bible Basics:
Let's find our way into this strange, beautiful, somewhat impenetrable book. We'll take a structural look, a historical look, tons of goofs and laughs along the way. What makes the Bible what it is?
(No need to believe or profess anything, we'll all jump in together no matter where we're at.)
5:00 - 6:00
Schmitt Interfaith Center Sun Room
Thursday. Vigil of Remembrance:
Join Spirituality and Religious Life (SRL), Women, Gender, and Sexuality Resource Center (WGSRC), Counseling and Psychological Services (CaPS), Case Management, and Health Promotion, as we focus our thoughts, minds, and prayers on loss, grief, and the many sources of pain in our lives. We will band together as students, staff, and faculty (the entire RIT community) to remember, process, and lament—doing so with grace, fond memories, and love. You are also encouraged to bring stories, photos, and items that signify or illustrate loss or grief, which will be offered in memory during the vigil ceremony.
