PCC News for Tuesday, September 30th:

Image ID: A line of people in front of a wooden wall smile at the camera. We see church leadership of many generations leaning on one another, lifted spirits and big grins. Behind one shoulder, afternoon light reaches a brick facade, the big Sunday work should finally be done.
Thank you for guest preaching at UR, Rev. Michelle! What a great day. Associate Chaplain Evann went to a local ecumenical worship service, our GACM board took care of business, Music Director Ali brought the house down with that postlude, and we met some new friends.
September was a lot, so we're going to spend the first chunk of October reconstituting. Let's take some time this week to slow down our collective pulse, that was one of the busiest months we've ever had.
One foot in front of the other, let's slow down the pace and see what fall brings.

Tonight: DnD One-off with Jeremiah!
PRISM (Campus Center 2050)
5:00 - 6:30ish
DnD time! Jeremiah is one of our coolest staff colleagues, a very powerful healer-geek. He'll be leading us in a drop-in, no homework required sort of DnD session, always fun and always spirit-led. You're gonna love how he DMs, bring a friend!
No experience or aptitude necessary, all you gotta be is curious and open-minded.
~*~* Christianity is Magic*~*~

whatever mike's debut EP is kinda a big deal to some of us! To have a trans enby Christian songwriter who infuses Jesus' teachings into what they call "hope pop..." unreal.
I love an artist who is just beginning to find their voice. Seem as if mike's work could go in a few directions from here: Are we seeing the next step of queer Christian Contemporary Music? (To say nothing of Semler and their genius, Joy Oladokun's making waves too. Queer Christian by Erica Mason is a fave, too!) Or will mike end up doing genre hybrid / pastiche work and blending it all together?
What we can celebrate this World Communion Sunday is how nourishing it could be -- if we laid down our weapons and focused on art and community reform... one song at a time can create a more peaceful, more just world.
Perhaps we'll listen to how the teachings of Jesus show up in this EP, pray and meditate, and get to the work we must create ourselves. Onward.
Coming Up:
- Want a fun, relaxing way to engage with PCC? Join on discord for geeky conversation, spiritual reflection, and new ways of thinking about faith.
- Join our lovely TABLE Community on Sunday nights for worship and dinner! Been collaborating a lot with Pastor Craig over the years, he's an amazing guy. If you're curious about details, PCC co-president Atticus can help.
- Drop-in Counseling is happening today! See you 2:30 - 4:00 at my office just off of Fireside Lounge. Put your name on the dry erase board and knock if you want to wait in line, can't wait to catch up.
