PCC News for Tuesday, October 24th:

Sunday's sunset was unreal. The colors on display right now... we're so lucky to live here.

What's next? Fall Break's in the rear view mirror. Midterms think they can challenge your stability and poise, but you've got the tools to take care of business. How would you like your work and faith to settle into these cooler days? Let's figure it all out one step at a time.

Save the date! Chaplain Sam's Installation:

Sunday, November 12th from 5:00 to 6:30ish at the U of R Interfaith Chapel. (Then a light reception.)

A pastoral installation is something like a Jr. Ordination. It's part worship, a way for us to feel churchy with interfaith neighbors and representatives from the UCC in our region. It's also a way to ritualize the rightness of... this. We spent a year interrogating whether the call was right and now we're saying it out loud.

And we can't do it without PCC-ers! Please show up in your cutest garb, bring a friend. We're gonna bring over as many of our PCC @ RIT folks as we can, let us know if you need a ride. The meaning and spirit of this day will ripple on far beyond one service, we can't wait to see you there.

Tonight! Intentional Game Night:

We're going to play a one-off DnD campaign with our friend Jeremiah from CaPS! Get your imagination in gear, this is gonna be a fun one

5:00 - 6:00
Schmitt Interfaith Center Sun Room

Q&A with Chaplain Sam:

We had a ton of feedback from the DEIA panel a few weeks ago that involved students texting panelists questions about college, life and faith. Let's get some of those fantastic questions answered!

Whats your favorite movie of the last 10 years?

Huge movie buff here. I think Everything Everywhere All At Once is an unbelievable confluence of things: strange youtubey humor, technical excellence and some incredibly real performances from each actor. It’s so queer! It’s somehow this macro absurd joke about existence while holding the core family narrative together so tightly. I recognize that in my whiteness I’m decentered from some of the movie’s core identity, but I’ll be damned if it’s not one of the most imaginative, pathos-forward films I’ve seen in my life. Go seeeeeee it.
