Greetings RIT 365 Facilitators,

CHECK IN WITH YOUR CO-FACILITATOR
Right now is a great time to check in with your co-facilitator. Make a plan to complete all remaining tasks for this semester including grading, coaching meetings and notes, outreach to certain students and anything else needed to finish strong. This will greatly reduce the stress and grading of the final week for everyone.

BI-WEEKLY MEETINGS
There are only 2 meeting cycles left. Please be sure to make up any missed meetings by participating in a different meeting time on our schedule. You are all paid for 6 hours of team meeting time, so if you have missed a meeting(s) from a past cycle, you still have opportunities to earn that paid time.

Those who do not fulfill the 6 hour requirement will be asked to attend a workshop in early December. This is a pay equity issue, and we appreciate your adherence to this policy. Contact Deborah or Robyn with any questions.

SUPPORTING STUDENTS
We want to support our students as much as we can while maintaining our professional and personal boundaries. As we near the end of the semester, you may receive requests for make-up assignments as students now realize, most likely through Starfish alerts, the impact of missing course requirements. Remember, students should only receive a failing grade for this course if they have consistently and persistently missed multiple elements of the requirements.  Below are some ways to support our students.

Student missed a whole PDR cycle
In order to satisfy this requirement, the student must attend a speaking event or workshop on campus that:
ÔùÅ Includes alumni or other professionals
ÔùÅ Takes place “live” either virtually or in-person (i.e., not a recording)
ÔùÅ Is at least 45 min long
And complete a reflection portfolio regarding this event.

Coaching
We encourage you to keep reaching out to students to schedule coaching sessions. If they have missed about 3 meetings or attempts at meeting, please “leave the door open” for the student to come to you. If/when they do, we ask you to make time for the student and avoid “you didn’t sign up when I told you to, so now you fail” type of language.

Attendance
If a student has missed 3 or 4 classes but is otherwise engaged in the course, you and your Co
should work with that student to brainstorm alternate ways to make-up for the missed class
time. Ideas include extra coaching meetings, a written reflection of some kind, or even asking
them to help facilitate a class activity. Often when you ask the student their thoughts on a good
way to satisfy the requirement, they have great ideas.

Portfolios
There are 4 Portfolio submissions required to pass this course. How much grace and extended time you give your students to submit these Portfolios is at your discretion. However, similar to the philosophy of coaching, if a student submits them during finals week, we ask you to grade the portfolio.  View Make Up Guidelines for more information.

Final grades are due to the University on Friday 12/22. You may set an earlier deadline for final work from your students based on your own schedules. This gives a buffer for the potential influx of last-minute submissions and time for grading.
