Thank you to everyone who attended our Interview Tips event with RIT Alum Richard Cromer '88, '99. We hope you enjoyed his presentation, mini STAR workshop, and have gained a greater sense of how to ace your interviews. The slide deck he used has been attached to this email if you would like to access it.

Next Meeting: Monday, February 27th

For the second installment of our Career Readiness Series, we will be having a fireside chat with students who have been on co-op before. If you have any questions about navigating future job opportunities, the Career Fair, or networking, these students have been in your shoes before and have some great advice to give. Join us on Monday, February 27th, at 6:30pm in GOL 2400.

Affinity Reception 2023

COMS will be at the Affinity Reception this year! If you would like to attend the Affinity Reception as a representative of COMS, please fill out the form below!

The Affinity Reception is a reverse career fair where RIT's clubs and organizations table and employers walk around to learn more about each club and their students. We highly recommend that you attend this event!

COMS Discord Modifications

We are overhauling our Discord server! If you are currently on our Discord server (or would like to join) and have not yet seen the recent announcement, please complete the following steps to receive your Discord verification by March 4th @ 11:59pm.

  1. Change your Discord Servicer Profile to either your first and last name or your first name and last initial
  2. Complete the 3 questions Discord Verification Form below
Both items must be complete to receive verification. We appreciate your cooperation!

Community Engagement Committee

As part of the Community Engagement Committee, you will help to build pathways for young people of color and underrepresented groups whoa re interested in computing. This committee will be planning for our upcoming social for accepted students that will take place on March 25th and April 1st.

This week's meeting will be held in CYB 2791 from 5:30pm - 6:30pm. If you are unable to make it in person, this meeting will also be held on Zoom.

Tech Projects Committee

The Tiger Games, our premier game jam, will be taking place later this semester! Join this committee to help plan for an exciting event with workshops, prizes, food, game-making, and more.

These meetings will be held on Thursdays in GOL 2400 from 5:30pm - 6:30pm.

Movie Night tonight!

To celebrate Black History Month, we will be watching a movie! We will have pizza, caprisuns, and popcorn available while supplies last. Join us at 7:00pm in GOL 2350 for a showing of Spider-Man: Into the SpiderVerse!

Academic Haven serves as a safe space where students can study, work on homework, or review class materials in a supportive environment. Come drop by! We'll be there every Thursday in GOL 2400 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
