RIT WCVB (2017-2018) in Clark Gym, where we host our annual Fall home tournament!

As a competitive club, we are always looking for members with skilled volleyball experience. If you played varsity volleyball and/or travel club in high school and are looking to continue playing in college at a varsity level without the every-day time commitment, come check us out!

We have a table every year at the Club Fair (now named the Tigers Activities Fair) at the beginning of the school year in August where you can come talk to us, ask questions, and hear all about our upcoming open gyms, tryouts, and general events. This usually takes place either the weekend prior to the first day of classes, or that first week. Check our Instagram on the day-of to see where we set up!

We know it may have been months or even years since you last dove on the ground and bruised a hip. Therefore, we host open gyms to help you shake off the dust and meet our e-board in a casual, enjoyable environment! No assesments of your playing ability are made during our open gyms and our e-board joins in on the fun.

Then, our main team tryouts take place the second or third week of classes during Fall Semester. For students who are absent, away on co-op, starting school in the Spring, or just didn't know we existed, we may offer a smaller tryout during the first week of classes of Spring Semester. If you are one of these people, please contact us to let us know you're interested, via our Instagram DMs (we may forget to check our email!).

We practice twice a week in the Student Life Center on campus, on Thursdays from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM and Sundays from 10:30AM to 12:30PM. Court assignment varies! When Spring comes around and our nationals team is announced, practices can ramp up to 4 times/week not including tournaments for those traveling with us, to incorporate skills-specific clinics and additional team practices.

As a student-run group, funding from the school is supplemented by player contributions. However, if you've ever played club, you may recognize that our dues are susbstantially lower to help mitigate that financial burden! Our dues are $65 per semester as a full-time player or $45 as a practice player (we'll explain the difference at tryouts, don't worry!), which go towards our tournaments fees, apparel, and travel. Accommodations can absolutely be made for anyone who has concerns about dues, or members who cannot make the full commitment but wish to still be a member of the team. If you have questions or concerns about dues, please contact us (preferably our listed Treasurer under the "Contact Us" tab)!

Now, we said we were competitive and we weren't kidding! We typically attend 4 tournaments each semester (one-two/month), all hosted through our league (NWVCL). These tournaments take place on weekends, with one of the 4 being hosted by us on campus, usually in the Fall. We compete against a mix of local teams (Brockport, University of Rochester, Geneseo, University at Buffalo, Fredonia), regional teams (Ithaca, Binghamton, Oswego, Cornell, Cortland) and out of state teams (Penn State, Vermont, Rutgers) who are all members of our league.

Each year in April, we attend the NCVF National Championships, where we travel across the country to compete with 400+ other teams in the Women's D1AA or D1AAA division. Past years, the national tournament has been held in Dallas TX, Reno NV, Louisville KY, Phoenix, AZ, with the most current being Kansas City, MO (2022-2023).

However, we put our students first and recognize that volleyball isn't everything. Outside of volleyball, we love to hang out as a team and often have social events between our team and the Men’s Volleyball Club as well.
