Career Exploration

What does it mean to explore your career options? This can be thinking about what you will do for a career in your current major, and other ways of thinking forward into your working future. If you're looking into new majors, there are resources here for you, too. This page shares information for exploring your career options in a variety of ways.

Talk with your advisor(s)!

Your advisor is an incredible resource for getting connected with the right resources and people. Consider talking with them about your career path questions.

In addition to your academic advisor, your program may also assign a faculty advisor. Your faculty advisor will be especially helpful as you progress through your major, and can provide advising relevant to your career development, professional field, and specialized aspects of your program curriculum. They can provide helpful perspective on research opportunities and work environment(s). You can find the name of your faculty advisor by clicking on the Advisors icon in SIS.

Office of Career Services

The Office of Career Services is here to assist you whether you are confident in your choice of major or are thinking about exploring other options.

Know you picked the right major but have questions about your major and want to know more about where your majors co-op or work after graduation? You can make an appointment on Handshake to meet with your Career Services Coordinator. To make an appointment log into Handshake, select Career Center at the top right, select Appointments, select Schedule a New Appointment, select Job Search/ Co-op Search and then a 30 minute appointment with your Career Services Coordinator. It will only show your Career Services Coordinator's availability.
