Music Industry Perspectives: Patricia Patrón on Intra-Band Dynamics

MAKING THE BAND: Intra-Band Dynamics & Long Term Success
DON’T LOSE YOUR BAND TO CONFLICT! Some of the greatest bands in the history of popular music have been dismantled by the social complexities of living, working, and building together, even when the music itself is seemingly pristine. In this interactive workshop, explore the interpersonal side of making music as a team as well as working through common missteps. Through effective and respectful communication, likeminded musicians can discover the importance of mutually beneficial collaborations, navigating creative differences, and making tough decisions to create even better music throughout months and years. Explore the practical skills you need to successfully handle interpersonal dynamics and learn to work alongside other musicians.

Artist Bio:
Patricia Patrón is the magnetic frontwoman of Rochester-bred artist project KOPPS, a band known for her powerful vocals, genre-bending electro-pop-meets-nu-metal sound, and a theatrical live and online aesthetic that flirts with weird, twisted glam. Drawing upon her experience from the realities of collaboration, conflict, international touring, and decision-making as a band leader, Patricia offers years of real-world experience navigating the creative and interpersonal dynamics of a tight-knit live band. Join us as Tad walks us through his career in music, and shares his perspectives on what it means to be a successful musician today. We'll open up the floor to a Q and A and discussion toward the end of the session.
