Join us for an afternoon of learning, reflection, and nourishment with Chef Lorinda John (Seneca Nation), owner of Aurora Treasures and a celebrated artist and culinary entrepreneur from the Cattaraugus Territory.

Chef John’s work bridges art, culture, and wellness through traditional Haudenosaunee foodways and handcrafted cedar dreamcatchers made from trees grown on her family’s land. Her practice reflects the Full Circle of wellness—connecting body, mind, spirit, and community.

During this session, Chef John will discuss Indigenous approaches to nutrition and healing, share insights from her journey as a Native business owner, and lead a hands-on community activity where participants will help create a collective dreamcatcher symbolizing community and balance.

Guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy a taste of her Three Sisters Salad and berry cedar tea, prepared from ingredients she grows and harvests herself on the Cattaraugus Territory.

Through her culinary and artistic practice, Chef John emphasizes intentional harvest, respect for the land, and the power of cultural preservation. As she explains, “Sharing my culture and talking about it with people who have no idea is my purpose—and everything else is extra.”
