Departure Time: 10:00 AM from RIT Sentinel (Transportation is limited to the first six students that sign up)
Destination: Ganondagan State Historic Site and Canandaigua Court House

Canandaigua Treaty Observance:
The Canandaigua Treaty, signed in 1794, continues to be honored each year by the United States, reaffirming its commitment to the Six Nations peoples. As part of this tradition, the United States provides an annual distribution of cloth, symbolizing the enduring obligations outlined in the treaty.
Commemoration Ceremony:
At 2:00 PM, join us on the front lawn of the Ontario County Courthouse in Canandaigua for a solemn commemoration of the Canandaigua Treaty. Together, we will "polish the chain of peace and friendship" between the Hodinöhsö:ni’ (Six Nations Confederacy) and the United States, as envisioned by the treaty signatories over two centuries ago.
Exhibit Viewing:
Following the ceremony, explore the original Canandaigua Treaty on display at the Ontario County Historical Society until 4:00 PM. Immerse yourself in the history and significance of this foundational document that continues to shape the relationship between indigenous nations and the United States.
