Being a Muslim at RIT has been made easier with all the amenities we have been able provided with, which include:
Halal Dining On Campus
We know it's difficult to find halal food outside of our home, but Alhamdulillah there are couple of great halal dining places on campus. And of course there will always be vegetarian food being served in various dining places on campus.
- Gracies - Halal burgers & hotdogs (daily)
- Commons - Halal burgers
- RITZ - Halal beef and chicken burgers (daily), PH Express (Mondays from 11am - 2pm)
- Crossroads - Halal burgers (daily)
- Brick City Cafe - PH Express (Wednesdays from 11am - 2pm)
- The Market - Al-safa products, and many other merchandises that contain halal ingredients.
Prayer Room
Alhamdulillah we are blessed to have our very own prayer room which is located in the lower level of the Schmitt Interfaith Center. Any Muslim on campus can use the rooms from 7 a.m.-12 a.m. Users are responsible to keep the place clean and tidy.
Charity Work
MSA offers a variety of charity services from volunteering to donating. In the past, MSA was actively engaged in volunteering at Mary's Place Refugee Outreach program, and this year MSA volunteers bi-weekly with the Islamic Center of Rochester and Foodlink in distributing food to the needy and poor.
