Global Public Health class takes field trip to Dominican Republic
I wanted to share a recent article published by RIT News that highlights an incredible experiential learning opportunity taken by students in the Global Healthcare Delivery with International Field Experience class this semester.
As part of the course, students traveled to the Dominican Republic during spring break, where they worked directly with local communities, conducted health education sessions, and gained firsthand insight into global health disparities and the social determinants of health. This field experience was a powerful example of how immersive learning can shape future public health professionals and strengthen cross-cultural collaboration.
