Welcome to the Innovations in Global Public Health Conference, 2024

About our Conference

Each spring, the Global Public Health Association @ RIT hosts the Innovations in Global Public Health Conference, where we bring in speakers from across the United States to speak on the topic of the year. The conference will be attended by students, faculty, and staff of RIT and surrounding universities, as well as professionals from the Greater Rochester area.

On April 20th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. we will be hosting our 6th annual conference on the campus of Rochester Institute of Technology.

The 6th Annual Innovations in Global Public Health Conference is set to make a significant impact as we center our discussions on the pressing issue of mental health. Against the backdrop of ongoing global challenges, from the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic to the toll of conflicts, natural disasters, and societal upheavals, the importance of prioritizing mental well-being has never been clearer. This year, our theme shines a spotlight on mental health, acknowledging its pivotal role in achieving holistic public health outcomes.

As we convene for this milestone event, we invite attendees to join us in exploring innovative strategies, sharing insights, and fostering collaboration to address the multifaceted dimensions of mental health. Through engaging keynote speeches, poster presentations and interactive networking sessions, we aim to catalyze action and drive positive change in mental health advocacy and support systems worldwide. From groundbreaking research to grassroots initiatives, our conference serves as a catalyst for transformative dialogue and collective action in the field of global public health.

Join us at the 6th Annual Innovations in Global Public Health Conference as we come together to advance the conversation on mental health, empower communities, and chart a path towards a healthier, more resilient future for all.

Changing the way how we do things

The vision of the Global Public Health Association is to utilize a multidisciplinary approach to global health incorporating the biomedical sciences, international politics and policy, environmental safety, municipal engineering, information technology, and social determinants of health.

We are able to achieve this vision by the 21st-century education and alliances available at RIT

The College of Health Sciences and Technology

RIT's College of Health Sciences and Technology is poised to transform the quality, safety, and affordability of health care. By combining technology and medicine, the college seeks to educate 21st century healthcare professionals, develop new patient-focused programs and systems, effectively assess community needs, and develop and apply innovative healthcare delivery practice.

Students will gain advanced knowledge in theoretical science and practical applications in experiential learning environments. These experiences will prepare students to serve humanity as practitioners, scientists, and leaders through their contribution to, and the provision of, high quality patient care, healthcare service, and/or applied translational biomedical research.

Most of our students within the Global Health Association are studying within the College of Health Sciences and Technology.

RIT and Rochester Regional Health Alliance

RIT is Rochester Regional Health's official academic affiliate, and Rochester Regional is the university's official affiliated clinical partner. We work together to improve the quality and cost of healthcare delivery, and to demonstrably improve the health of the people of Western New York and the Finger Lakes.
