Mission
The purpose of this organization shall be to facilitate a professional and equal space for any RIT-based a cappella group and/or member to: cooperate with other groups in a common, universally-positive interest, communicate and manifest their opinions, concerns, or ideas to other groups/members, and resolve or complete any RIT a cappella related issues or projects through the shared resources and judgement of the A Cappella Council.

Encore has been active since 1996, but not until 2003 did we leave behind our piano-accompaniment-based roots and truly become RIT's first all-female a cappella group! Since then, we've been rocking events on and off campus, traveling all over the state (and occasionally internationally!) to perform music ranging from 50's swing music to modern pop.

As the only current vocal jazz group at the Rochester Institute of Technology, our goal is to build a community of singers, develop our members’ individual skill, lock in a group sound, and embrace music as a form of emotional release and self-expression. Kaminari is an all-gender SATB a cappella group at Rochester Institute of Technology. Formed in 2015, we sing Japanese music in all genres ranging from city pop to J-rock to anything in between.

Kaminari is an auditioned a capella group. Auditions are held in september each year along with the other acappella groups on campus.

The latest soprano-alto a cappella group at Rochester Institute of Technology. A diverse group of talented young singers, Vocal Accent delves deep into the realm of a cappella with a repertoire of strong, empowering, and emotionally charged music.

Though still young and finding their niche, the group, rooted in rock and soul with modern pop highlights, is establishing itself as a company of serious musicians working to both continue and build upon the a cappella movement sweeping the modern era. Still keeping it entertaining and exciting, these captivating singers are a joy to watch, as they each intangibly meld their hearts in their voices and continue to break the boundaries of contemporary music.
