NTID Presenter Series: David Player

David Player is a RIT/NTID graduate who found his niche in writing by chronicling the experiences of Black people facing systemic racism within Deaf communities amidst the Black Live Matter movement resurgence. He regularly publishes on his blog, White Deaf Privilege, in which he draws his knowledge of this critical issue from his extensive studying of Black History and the applications for Black People in Deaf communities. David is currently enrolled at the University of New Mexico as a graduate student in Linguistics.

David will discuss the importance of incorporating Black Deaf Studies as part of your journey in order to further understanding of how systemic racism affects Deaf Communities overall.
