Our building stage is in full swing at this present moment. With the beginning of our competition lying only two weeks away, we're racing the clock to finish our remaining modifications. Our team hopes to have the competition snowmobile running and test driveable by the end of next Saturday, 2/29.
The recent couple of weeks have broken a lot of ground for us. First, our new muffler was successfully manufactured for competition use. Second, we have completed running multiple noise analysis experiments testing the difference in sound deadening properties of different materials. The original material that was applied to our sled's tunnel proved to be inferior to another one that was tested. Due to this discovery, our team stripped the original material from our machine and plans to apply the superior one, 80 mil Kilmat. Third, a couple of teammembers ran tests to discover the properties and efficiency of different track wheel bearings. They determined that replacing the stock stainless steel bearings with after-market hybrid ceramic bearings was more beneficial for the sled's performance. Lastly, our engine is now connected and being tested on our Dyno for tuning. Good news, it runs!
The team would like to give a huge thank you to our sponsors for all their assistance during this build season. The improvements we have implemented this year would not have been possible without their continuous support.
