Paxton Diaz is recognized for being an Enthusiast and Supporter on the team. He always shows up ready to work and completes his tasts with a smile on his face. He simultaneuously led or contributed to the emissions and sound dampening projects this semester.
Greg Derr-Havenlach is recognized for being an Initiator and Instructor on the team. He currently holds the role as the team's PR officer and has taken the team's exposure to the next level with his regular social media posts. Additionally, he's shown his willingness to assist other team members attempting to use simulation solftware by sharing his more extensive knowledge on the subject.
Alex Currie is recognized for being an Enthusiast and Inventor on the team. He is ready to assist any project in need of an extra hand with no complaints while also working with his noise cancellation project. It is his work with this project that earned him the Inventor title as he made more progress with prototyping a noise cancelling system in only a few months time than was previously completed over the span of 2 years.
The purpose of the Rider Awards is to recognize a few team members who display exemplary behavior and commitment to the team. The ceremony is held once per semester and candidates are considered based on their ability to fulfill one or more of the following roles:
Initiator: someone who excels at finding tasks to do and self-starts
Supporter: someone who is always willing to help others with their work and/or simultaneously works on multiple projects
Enthusiast: someone who excels at showing up with a good attitude and positively influences the others on the team
Instructor: someone who constantly offers their knowledge and guidance to team members in need
Inventor: someone who thinks outside the box to create a solution to a problem
