Mission RIT Model United Nations (Model UN), an RIT-based academic and social club, assists students in getting involved with local and global communities in order to make our world a better place to live. Members of RIT Model UN participate in National Model United Nations Conferences (NMUN) in either fall, spring, or both fall and spring semesters. RIT Model UN also organized a high school conference at RIT for students in the Rochester region. At Model UN conferences, delegates must take the position of their representative country and advocate for that countries position in a manner that is both diplomatic and persuasive. This requires in depth research and public speaking skills. RIT Model UN also requires our members to think outside of the box and develop creative solutions to global problems.RIT Model UN welcomes student with diverse academic and personal backgrounds since we strongly believe that the problems considered in the international community require everybody's attention. We encourage members to take initiative in helping any communities and charitable organizations by dedicating their knowledge, expertise, and skills to help various causes.
