Empire Justice Center is a New York state law center that focuses on providing free legal services to low income individuals. They have 5 locations around New York State: Yonkers, Long Island, White Plains, Albany, and here in Rochester.
Empire Justice has had a long history of fighting for LGBTQ rights in New York. Empire Justice created the LGBTQ Rights Project as a way to connect low income LGBTQ individuals throughout New York with the resources to best protect their rights and be able to live as their authentic selves. The Q Center has partnered with the LGBTQ Rights Project since 2022, and offers resources and connections to students.
