Dance Auditions for AstroDance 2: Across The Universe

A multi-media, multi-experiential dance production

AstroDance II explores basic concepts of gravitational waves and the interactions between objects in space through a series of vignettes in dance, ASL and music. This aesthetic educational and interactive performance combines ballet, modern dance, tap dance, hip-hop dance, step dance, aerial & circus arts and astrophysics, technologies of motion capture, projection mapping, hologram technology, gaming. The performance aims to engage both performers and audience on a collaborative journey of discovery, innovation and education.

Spots Available:
5 Ballet/Pointe
2 Tap
6-9 Hip-hop/Step
6 Modern/Jazz
2 Aerial silk artists
4-6 Aerial flying artists (single pick, center back harnesses)
2 Cyr wheel dancers

Auditions Schedule
6:30-7pm: All dancers Sign In + Show Presentation
7-8pm: Ballet/pointe auditions (learn combo taught by Thomas)
8-9pm: Modern/jazz auditions (learn combo taught by Thomas)
9-9:30: Tap, cyr wheel, silk and aerial flyers auditions/demos
Tap Dancers: prepare a 30 second routine.
Cyr Wheel Dancers: bring their wheels and prepare a short demo.
Silk/Aerial Flyers: prepare short demo/combo or talk about experience
7-8:45pm: Hip-hop auditions (combo taught by Julia)
8:45pm-9:30pm: Step auditions (step dancers must also audition for hip-hop)
Step Dancers: prepare a short routine to show
