Talk about spicy!
Things got really heated at our last meeting. But heated in the best of ways.
We started the meeting with a game of Telephone Charades. That's a combination of Telephone/Chinese Whispers and Charades where you pass the message along by charade-ing it to your next team member. It was really fun and everyone who participated had a great time (I hope).
We had our candidates for the role of Freshman Representative step up and deliver their speeches. Our candidates were Joyceline Dweh, Oluwajoba Makindipe, Gideon Wikina, and Zico Arachie. Voting is still on till Wednesday, September 18th. The winner will be announced at our next meeting so you better show up if you want to find out ƒÿë
Our main event of the meeting was an intense session of Middle Ground. With a list of controversial topics, OAS was given the opportunity to defend their stances on these matters. And when I say controversial, I mean controversial. It was an interesting opportunity to see the multiple perspectives on these topics somewhere other than twitter wars.
It did get really heated at times but I definitely learned a lot from it and if you weren't able to make it, that's quite a shame.
Anyways, next week, we have a speaker coming to talk to us about climate change and it's effects around us. It's going to be really interesting. Stay tuned to our Campus Groups (you're already there!) as this is the tool we'll be using for most of our communication and updates. Also, if you're not already on our Group Me, you are running out of excuses. Get with the program ƒæç
