Mission NOWCAN at RIT is dedicated to the advocacy of women’s rights and gender equality through the National Organization for Women’s six core issues: women's health, ending violence against women, economic justice, LGBTQIA+ rights, racial justice, and constitutional equity. This organization strives to create an inclusive community empowering students to create the positive change they want to see in their communities and amplify diverse perspectives through education, collaboration, and community service.
Membership BenefitsAll members have the option to become official, acting members of the National Organization for Women (NOW) by paying annual dues. Dues are set at $35, but individuals are permitted to pay as little as $10. A free one-year membership to NOW is provided upon joining NOWCAN at RIT. Official members have the opportunity to shape the organization's leadership and priorities by voting in NOW elections at the local, state, and national levels. Additionally, nationally recognized members receive updates from the NOW National Action Center in Washington D.C., including invites to conferences, workshops, and webinars.
