This year for national First-Generation College Student Celebration Day (November 8), there is going to be a week-long celebration of our first-generation college students at RIT! One of the events will be a photoshoot of some of our first-generation students and then subsequently a photo exhibit in MOSAIC during the week of November 6-10 of posters that result from this photoshoot.
If you have seen the "I am ALANA" posters around campus, this will be a similar campaign! We will take professional photos of selected first-gen students and design a poster with the words "I am ______. I am First-Generation." You can fill in the first word with whatever you want (think: "an inspiration", "a researcher", "a future doctor", etc.).
We are giving first-generation McNair Scholars the first opportunity to sign up to participate in this event! If you are interested (you are not committing at this point), please follow this link and fill out an interest form.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me or Jazzmyn Ivery-Robinson (jirddi@rit.edu).
Best,
Alexis
