Hello McNair Scholars,
I hope you all had a restful break last week. I have some exciting news to share as we wrap up the semester: We have hired a new Assistant Director for the McNair Scholars Program! Please see the formal announcement below that was sent to our division staff moments ago:
The Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program welcomes its new Assistant Director, Ting Zhang. Zhang holds a PhD in Teaching, Curriculum, and Change from the University of Rochester, an M.A. in Applied Linguistics, and a B.A. in English. Most recently Dr. Zhang was a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in RIT’s College of Liberal Arts, where her research has focused on inclusivity, adaptivity, and professional development in STEM education. Dr. Zhang has assisted in mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students in their research. She has served as an adjunct and graduate level instructor, and brings a wealth of experience to the position. She will join the division in her new role on December 16.
Like many of us, Ting was the first person in her family to go to college. She is passionate about diversity and inclusion in higher education and is anxious to get started in this new role. I know Ting is looking forward to meeting and working with all of you next semester. Please feel free to reach out to her after December 16.Have a great day.
