Need help finding the right graduate school that fits you and your goals?
Join us on Monday, October 30* for our Workshop titled "What's the right graduate school for me?".
In this workshop, we will determine our goals for graduate school and use this to form an action plan to develop a solid list of graudate schools that will help us acheive those goals.
We will talk about aspects of graduate programs to consider, like the program size and location, plus the all importnat funding and finding a suportive research advisor.
This will be an interactive workshop where hopefully participants will leave with a much better idea of where they want to go to graduate school. Feel free to invite anyone you know that might be interested in grad school! This is open to all RIT students; just make sure to register in Campus Groups.
*This was rescheduled from last Monday, October 23!

First-Generation College Student Celebration!
Most of our McNair Scholars are first-generation college students, meaning (by the definition of the US Dept of Education) that neither of their parents earned a bachelor's degree or higher in the US.
In conjunction with the MOSAIC Center and Multicultural Programs, we are planning a whole week of festivities around National First-Generation College Student Celebration Day on November 8.
Join us if you are a first-gen college student, or if you support a first-gen college student! |

The Pell Institute invites your TRIO Student Support Services, McNair, and EOC students to participate in a paid research opportunity about the value of college credentials.
The Pell Institute at the Council for Opportunity in Education is embarking on a journey to understand the perspectives of Black, Latinx, and Indigenous TRIO learners in regard to the value of postsecondary credentials.
The study funded by Lumina Foundation will explore students' career aspirations, financial concerns, and beliefs about the relationship between a postsecondary credential and future success. We invite TRIO college students to complete this survey. Upon completing the survey and verifying their TRIO status, the initial 1,000 participants will be rewarded with a $50 e-gift card!
If you have any questions or concerns about the consent process, this survey, or the study at large, please contact Stephanie M. Breen, Research Associate at stephanie.breen@pellinstitute.org.
Join us for a three-part event series to learn how graduate study at RIT can help further your career objectives.
Choose from virtual and on-campus events where you can interact with other prospective students and admissions counselors, meet with our graduate program directors, and gain insight into how applicants are reviewed and evaluated. Every event allows you to get immediate answers to your questions!
REUs: Research Experiences for Undergradautes
Are you passionate about the learning and teaching of mathematics? Would you like to spend a summer in a beautiful historical city, with one of the most vibrant cultures in Europe? How about learning in small classes where instructors challenge each student to deeply engage with the material?
Please consider Summer@BSME, a 6-week summer program in Budapest, Hungary, designed for those interested in the learning and teaching of secondary mathematics. Participants explore the Hungarian pedagogy, in which a strong and explicit emphasis is placed on problem solving, mathematical creativity, and communication.
Why Summer@BSME? Today’s teachers are expected to provide students with opportunities to struggle productively towards understanding, and the Hungarian pedagogy has the potential to play a critical role in this endeavor. At Summer@BSME, we are excited for our participants to develop and bring back this new perspective on mathematics education.
We are currently accepting applications for Summer 2024 (due April 1). Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so apply early! More information, including the online application, can be found at bsmeducation.com.
