Welcome Back!
Hopefully, the spring semester is off to a great start already! There are a couple of exciting announcements that are new for this semester.
First, we will be having a joint family meeting/town hall with the LSAMP and CSTEP programs! This means that if you are in more than one of these programs, you just have to attend one meeting for the semester. Plus, if you are not a member of one of these programs, then you can learn more about them at the meeting. Our Spring 2024 Family Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 30 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm in Bamboo.
Second, we are having a McNair Retreat this semester! The goal of this event is to have one day of important information relevant to McNair Scholars, plus some time to meet with everyone- new and returning scholars. More information will be coming about the retreat, but please put March 23, 2024 on your calendars! We are planning the event to be from 10:00 am ot 3:00 pm at the Alumni House (plus a catered lunch!).
If you have time in the next couple weeks, feel free to srop by my office and let me know how your break was! I am in the office every weekday except Wednesdays this semester.
Best,
Alexis
P.S.- don't forget to encourage your friends and classmates to apply for the McNair Scholars program if they are intersted in graduate school! Applications are open and due February 12.
