Textbook Voucher (Akademos) FAQs

Can I use my book vouchers outside of the RIT Online Bookstore or be reimbursed if I use a different website? Funds cannot be transferred outside of the RIT Online Bookstore and students cannot be reimbursed for purchases outside of the RIT Online Bookstore website.

Can I purchase recommended books/supplies from the RIT Online Bookstore? Only required books, as stated in the course syllabus can be purchased using Book Vouchers through the RIT Online Bookstore.

Why was my book voucher smaller this semester? There are a couple reasons why your voucher might be different this semester. (1) As student membership grows, our budget must change to accommodate more students. (2) Only students who met program requirements will receive 100% of the voucher. See the "program requirements" policies for each program for more information.

If I don't use my voucher this semester, will it roll over to next semester? No, book vouchers do not roll over to the next semester. If you do not use your voucher by the expiration date, 9/13, it will go to a waitlisted student.
