Mission
Kaminari is one of the many acappella groups on RIT campus. We are a co-ed group that sings in exclusively Japanese. Our song genres include anime, movies, drama series, jpop and even Enka! The groups purpose is to spread knowledge of japanese music beyond what people are already exposed to.
The name of the group, Kaminari, means lightning in Japanese, and the decision for this name was influenced by other groups' weather themed names such as Arashi, which means storm, and fictional groups like Akatsuki, which means Dawn.
Membership Benefits
Kaminari is an auditioned a capella group. Auditions are held in september each year along with the other acappella groups on campus.
