Details

Momentum III: EUREKA! is an annual event open to all RIT students who are passionate about using their skills to initiate social change. Students will work alongside a community organization that has a challenge or opportunity that could benefit from our help with a fresh perspective or approach. In a 48-hour timeframe, multi-level and interdisciplinary teams collaborate with stakeholders of the community organization to propose solutions following the project prompt. The event concludes with team presentations to a panel of experts who select one proposal to go forward toward implementation.

MAIN PROMPT

City of Rochester – Department of Recreation & Human Services – Recreation & Youth Services Bureau

How can DRHS more effectively share information about its programs and services so that youth and families are consistently aware of the opportunities available to them?
________________________________

Path 1: Marketing & Communications
How might we leverage social media, digital platforms, and other outreach methods to increase visibility, engagement, and value for the community—while also ensuring that information is accessible to all youth and families, including those who face barriers related to technology, language, or access?

Path 2: Summer Youth Employment Programs
How might we improve communication and transparency about our partnership with Rochester Works so that families clearly understand the similarities, differences, and unique benefits of the youth employment and internship opportunities we provide?

Path 3: Sexual Health Education
How do we communicate with the community about the importance and value of sex education, and reinforce that sex education is an essential part of overall health and well-being?
