Mount Hope Cemetery is a truly historic site in Rochester for many reasons, chief among them being that it is a site of many famous civil rights activists in American history. Yes, Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony are laid to rest at Mount Hope, and there are many more lesser known (but equally fascinating and important) figures in the fight for equal voting access buried here. Through this tour, we will be able to learn about Rochester's unique place in history, and the many stories that live on through the ages.

A van will leave the Sentinel Statue promptly at 10:30am. If you require ASL interpretation or access services of any kind, please reach out directly to Access Services to complete a request.

This is a walking tour that takes place on sometimes rough, uneven terrain. Please come dressed appropriately for the weather and bring water!
